The factory reset function is specifically designed so that you can factory reset your clock, if the admin password has been forgotten or the clock has become unreachable on the network.
- The first step is to set the clock so that it can be factory reset
- In the Tekron Config Tool
- Open the maintenance tab
- Check box “Enable Unauthorized Factory Reset”
- Once this is checked a factory reset can be achieved by
- Holding down the button on the front panel for 10 seconds
- Using the FRPTrigger Tool on a computer connected to the clock
If using the button on the front panel
- Press and hold the button between the SYN and ALM LEDs on the front panel of the clock continuously for 10 seconds.
- If successful, the front panel display will show the message “FRP Armed Press Again to Disarm"
If using a computer
- To enter Factory reset mode using a computer the serial number of the clock must be entered.
- Then click the "Arm Factory Reset" button
- If successful, the front panel display will show the message “FRP Armed Press Again to Disarm"
Once the Factory Reset is armed, the clock must be “power cycled” to complete the reset.
This means disconnecting the clock from the power source, then reconnecting it. If the clock
is fitted with dual redundant power supplies, both must be disconnected.
The clock will now have been restored to the original factory configuration. The default login
credentials are:
Username: admin
Password: Password
To cancel the factory reset:
- Front panel button should be pressed again
- If using FRPTrigger Tool press the “Disarm Factory Reset” button
- The clock will also automatically disarm the reset if it is left for 5 minutes.
